1) Find your trigger point by using a pad of fingers touching your muscles around your pain area. When you find a smaller area of tenderness stop to examine more deeply.

2) Use 1 to 2 fingers to find a tight band of muscles. Around this area you will find one or more lumps. When pressing these lumps you will feel pain and be tender and often also experience pain somewhere else. These are your trigger points.

3) Take the thicker edge of you Gua sha tool and put it on top of your trigger point. Press with moderate pressure and hold still for 10 seconds. Take slow, deep breaths. Repeat 3-5 times.

4) Now add some drops of massage oil into the area and massage gently around your trigger point.

5) Take the Gua sha tool using the "moon shape" part and use strokes to pressure away the waste and to clean the area. This increases the blood flow and starts the healing process. Repeat 5-10 times.
